Carla Damron is a social worker, advocate and author whose novel, The Orchid Tattoo, won the 2023 NIEA Award in suspense, the Winter Pencraft Award for Literary Excellence, the Literary Titan Gold Award, and the Firebird Award for best suspense. Her work The Stone Necklace won the 2017 WFWA Star Award and was the One Community Read for Columbia, South Carolina.

Damron is also the author of the Caleb Knowles mystery series, each of which deals with social issues. This fourth installment, Justice Be Done, explores the brutal Impact of unresolved racial tensions on a southern community.
